William Payne 1847-1926

William was my great great grandfather and father of Daisy.

St Peter Ad Vincula, Coggeshall

He was born on the 10th Jun 1847 at 40 Coggeshall Road, Stisted, Essex to Charles and Hannah and baptised on 1st August in the church of St Peter Ad Vincula, Coggeshall, Essex.

William married Sarah Hunwick on 22nd December 1867 at St Mary The Virgin, Pattiswick, Essex.

William was a carpenter. The family, with 6 children, moved from Pattiswick to 8 Poplar Street, Romford, Essex between 1881 and1891.

Sarah died in 1896 and William married Matilda Wilcox the next year.

The 1901 and 1911 census show William and Matilda living in Cotleigh Road, Romford where William was a wheelwright on a farm.

WIlliam died in 1926 and was buried on 18th January in Romford, Essex
