James Slipper 1807-1848

James Slipper was my 3 x gt grandfather and the father of James Slipper.

He was born in Salhouse, Norfolk in 1807 to Joseph and Hannah and baptised on 27th July.

He moved to London some time in his first 25 years.

He was married at the age of 25 to Margaret Gardner on 25th June 1832 at Trinity Church, Marylebone. James was a coachmaker. The 1841 census shows James and Margaret living in Hackney, London with 3 sons, John, Joseph and James. Their first son, James John, having died in 1836 at the age of 2. They had a daughter, Hannah, in 1842. James died on 23rd April 1848 at 9 Bucks Buildings, Morning Lane, Hackney at the age of 41. He was buried on 30th April.
