George was my 4 x great grandfather and the father of Charles.
He was born in Icklingham, Suffolk to Samuel and Mary in 1793 and was baptised in All Saints Church on 9th February 1794.
George married Lucy Smith in Suffolk on 20th October 1819. They had at least 11 children.
The family moved from Suffolk to Essex in around 1829. By 1841 they were living at
Gatehouse Farm, Ambridge Road, Great Coggeshall, Essex, where George was Land Bailiff.
The 1861 census shows that George is now a farmer at Walnut Tree Farm, Copford, Essex. 30 acres and two labourers in his employ.
George died on 12th November 1872 and was buried in the churchyard of St Michael and All Angels, Copford,Essex on the 17th November.
